The term production site is sometimes used to refer to the main Distributed Proofreaders (DP) site (on which actual e-texts are produced, as well as other activities take place) in order to distinguish it from the test server, which is used to experiment with and test new software code. The term is most often used by DP's developers, who frequently work with and on both servers.
