Children's Book Week (CBW) is a celebration sponsored by the Children's Book Council. Its intention is to introduce young people to new authors and ideas. The Council "... encourages young people and their caregivers to discover the complexity of the world beyond their own experience through books."
Children's Book Week has been an annual event since 1919, and was always celebrated during the week before Thanksgiving until 2008, when it moved to May.
Children's Book Week is one of the most popular Special Days for DP's Content Providers and Proofers alike.
