User talk:Aliwood

Aliwood, very neat page! Just a couple quick thoughts. It looks like you have Categories transcluding in from one of the pages you're pulling data from. You may want to investigate which page it's coming in from (P2 Alt team, maybe) and stick <noinclude> tags around the Category settings on that source page. That's not to say you can't have Category settings on this page (altho a lot of folks don't use Categories on their User pages for some reason); it's just that you want to set your own Category settings intentionally instead of "inheriting" them from another page.

And one more quick thought. If you'd prefer to be the only one to edit the Dibbler's Diary page, you may want to move that to your User space (maybe User:Aliwood/Dibbler's Diary or some such) because if it stays in the Main namespace, that's a "sign" that it's fair game for anyone to edit (but you probably know that already). I know that eventually I'd get around to putting a Category setting on it at the very least, because once in a while I go on a "binge" of making sure every page in the Main namespace is in a Category so people can use the Category Directory to more easily find stuff.

Thank you. I think I'm doing OK for someone who knew virtually nothing about the in's and out's of Wiki's three days ago - thankfully I'm quite quick at picking up the basics of programming etc. I did wonder where that categoriething was coming from, and I thought it might be the p2 alt page - more twiddling in a second. Point taken about Dibbler, I shall move that when I work out how! It's taken me about twenty minutes to work out how to use the talk function! Do you know, I'm supposed to be working on my own website and proofing a book - I need more heads.--Aliwood 04:54, 12 August 2007 (PDT)

Turned out to be the oldest projects by status page where there wasn't a tag at all.--Aliwood 05:05, 12 August 2007 (PDT)
