Before starting the Spellcheck you should use Fixup->Run Word Frequency Routine. Afterward you can see how often the unknown word appears in the text during the spellcheck.

It is possible to include the good word list into the project dictionary. That way the good words are considered correct. However, I would strongly advise against doing so, since the good word list and the spellcheck serve different purposes. Word Check and the good word list are mostly used to find scannos while the spellcheck is used to find misspelled words. Therefore the good words often (but not always) are matching the scan, even though the scan does not always match correct spelling ;). Sometimes there are very obvious typos contained in the good word list, some cause the Project Manager just followed the scan, or did not notice it is a typo, some cause he trusted the Proofers who sometimes suggest obvious scannos/typos.

Start the spellcheck process.

  • Proceed through the document, correcting words or adding them to the project dictionary as appropriate.
