Talk:DPWiki's haiku
It might be appropriate to add some explanation of what the heck this is, for those who may stumble across it.
- I had been trying to track down the date it originally got posted into the Forums, as part of a small plan to do something like that, but I kept hitting "dead ends," and then I got distracted by other stuff, and never got back to it. Can you help with that? kraester 19:21, 9 August 2006 (PDT)
Erm. No luck so far. 19:28, 9 August 2006 (PDT)
(later) Does not appear that there are any occurrences at all, assuming the search functionality is telling even a semblance of the truth. This may be an artefact of the import process. I suppose we could concoct a SQL query, and throw it at an archived (or recovered) old version of the phpBB database. Can we get access to that? Vaguery 19:46, 9 August 2006 (PDT)
The history for the wiki article lists 06:14, 19 May 2006 as the "date of the original wiki post" before importing. However, that's more likely the last time it was reposted before the changeover. As for the first occurrence? Who knows? Perhaps that date is better left in the mists of time... logista 20:37, 9 August 2006 (PDT)
See, I'd love to post some "context" for this, so people know what it grew out of. I like saving this kind of "historical culture" stuff, but since this came into the Forums "pre-me," I have no idea where it came from, I just know I really like it, and feel it's worthy of saving. And it sounds like you folks are running into the same "dead ends" that I did when I first tried tracking it back into its original DPWiki thread.
I know Juliet said a while back she was archiving some old Forum posts, but I have no way to know if this is in there somewhere or not. So knowing I want to keep the haiku, and knowing that providing some "context" for it would be a "good thing," well, that's all I know and that's where I'm stuck. So, I'm open to suggestions. :) kraester 01:36, 10 August 2006 (PDT)
That seems like a very nice (and rather touching) solution. Vaguery 04:13, 10 August 2006 (PDT)
