The following examples show how to format text in Small Caps. The general rules for placement of inline formatting also apply to small caps; many of these are covered in the italics section of these examples.
Two kinds of text should be marked as small caps:
- Mixed small caps, which is marked with ... and written in mixed capital and lowercase letters; and
- Inline all small caps, which is marked with ... and written in all capital letters.
We do not mark all-full-height uppercase letters as small caps.
Before reviewing these examples, make sure you are familiar with the Words in Small Capitals and Inline Markup sections of the Formatting Guidelines.
