User page

I was apparently the first one to follow this link. Being basically clueless, I decided that this page was my User Page and edited it.

This assumption was incorrect. You can reach your own user page by clicking the link at the top of each DP Wiki page which is labeled with your user name beside the icon of the little head. You will get to a page headed by

User: Your_User_Name_here

and you may edit to your heart's content. Happy Wikiing!

Alternatively, you can follow a link Special:Listusers from the Main Page, under the heading Useful Special Wiki Pages and find your username in it. But the first method is easier.

What should you put on your UserPage?

Anything you want. It's even possible to edit someone else's User Page. Discretion is advised.

I have just reviewed all existing User pages and have found quite a wide range, from exceedingly terse (User:Fvandrog) to quite extensive (User:DANewman). You can include images (User:Mikeyc21), even animated ones (User:Miller). It seems to be most common to write in the first person, but third person has been used at least once (User:Vaguery).

The most common thing is nothing at all, leaving the link in the Special:Listusers page red, but in general people have chosen to describe themselves, their interest in DP and proofing and perhaps lists of things they've finished or worked on.
