For those who speak Dutch, see: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geschiedenis_van_de_Nederlandse_spelling
I can come up with sources for the following to be able to remove the -x after registration.
- nl-x-2005 Dutch (Revision Spelling Nederlandsche Taalunie)
- nl-x-1995 Dutch (Spelling Nederlandsche Taalunie)
- nl-x-1947 Dutch (BE 1946/NL 1947-1995, Spelling Marchant, voorkeurspelling, "zie-spelling")
- nl-x-1947b Dutch (BE 1946/NL 1947-1995, Spelling Marchant, alternatieve spelling, "ook-spelling")
- nl-x 1891 Dutch (Spelling Kollewijn, never official)
- nl-x-1863 Dutch (BE 1864/NL1883-1947, Spelling De Vries-Te Winkel)
- nl-x-1839 Dutch (BE 1844-1864 Willemsspelling)
- nl-x-1804 Dutch (Spelling Siegenbeek)
Since 1883, the official spelling for Dutch in the Netherlands and Belgium has been identical.
The default for Dutch (for PGDP purposes) would probably nl-x-1863, which was initially designed for publishing a dictionary in 1863, but by the time the dictionary was completed (in 2001) this spelling was obsolete.
We should register the codes (without the -x) at http://www.evertype.com/standards/iso639/iana-lang-assignments.html
