Lyrics copied from P3 and perl-formatted --QMacrocarpa 20:05, 26 June 2007 (PDT):

"AT the Lamb's high feast we sing"
"Praise to our victorious King:"
"Who hath washed us in the tide"
"Flowing from his piercèd side;"
"Praise we him whose love Divine"
"Gives the guests his Blood for wine,"
"Gives his Body for the feast,"
"Love the Victim, Love the Priest."
""
"* Where the Paschal blood is poured,"
"Death's dark angel sheathes his sword;"
"Israel's hosts triumphant go"
"Through the wave that drowns the foe."
"Christ, the Lamb whose Blood was shed."
"Paschal victim, Paschal bread!"
"With sincerity and love"
"Eat we Manna from above."
""
"Mighty Victim from on high."
"Powers of hell beneath thee lie;"
"Death is broken in the fight,"
"Thou hast brought us life and light."
"Now thy banner thou dost wave,"
"Conquering Satan and the grave."
"See the prince of darkness quelled;"
"Heaven's bright gates are open held."
""
"Paschal triumph. Paschal joy,"
"Only sin can this destroy;"
"From sin's death do thou set free,"
"Souls re-born, dear Lord, in thee."
"Hymns of glory, songs of praise,"
"Father, unto thee we raise."
"Risen Lord, all praise to thee,"
"Ever with the Spirit be."
""

Notes by L2 Jkenny 20:30, 18 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Corrected one case of uneven blank line spacing between verses 2 and 3

Notes by KenJ 22:54, 20 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Very good. I never noticed it. :) (No wonder, you caught it before I saw it.) :D
  • Lyrics, verse 2: image shows the 2 further left to accommodate asterisk and maintain vertical alignment with verse text.
  • Verse 2, line 5: it's hard to make out, but I think the end line period should be a comma. (It's not a complete sentence and goes with the next line).
  • Verse 3, line 1: end of line period should be comma, despite the image. (typo?)
  • Verse 4, line 1, triumph: comma makes more sense than period.
  • Line 5: I agree with end-of-line comma, even if image looks more like a period. Has a little tail like some others I mentioned above.

Notes by Jkenny 08:05, 21 August 2007 (PDT)

  • In other hymns, the numbers are usually aligned, with the asterisk sticking out to the right, so I have followed that style, with the asterisk to the right.
  • All commas you mentioned above do occur in the 1933 edition:
    • Verse 2 line 5
    • Verse 3 line 1
    • Verse 4 line 1 "triumph,"
    • Verse 4 line 5.
  • All fixed and errata page updated.
  • V2 up.

Notes by KenJ 12:40, 21 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Re: asterisk. You and PPer know more about what previous hymns looked like and what is preferred. (looks like you moved it anyway. Your/PPer's choice.) :)
  • Clear it.

  • V2 uploaded to repository. Jkenny 22:24, 21 August 2007 (PDT)
