Lyrics copied from P3 and perl-formatted --QMacrocarpa 19:57, 26 June 2007 (PDT):

"THE Lamb's high banquet we await"
"In snow-white robes of royal state;"
"And now, the Red Sea's channel past,"
"To Christ, our Prince, we sing at last."
""
"Upon the altar of the Cross"
"His Body hath redeemed our loss;"
"And tasting of his roseate Blood"
"Our life is hid with him in God."
""
"That Paschal eve God's arm was bared;"
"The devastating Angel spared:"
"By strength of hand our hosts went free"
"From Pharaoh's ruthless tyranny."
""
"Now Christ our Paschal Lamb is slain,"
"The Lamb of God that knows no stain;"
"The true Oblation offered here,"
"Our own unleavened Bread sincere."
""
"O thou from whom hell's monarch flies,"
"O great, O very Sacrifice,"
"Thy captive people are set free,"
"And endless life restored in thee."
""
"For Christ, arising from the dead,"
"From conquered hell victorious sped;"
"He thrusts the tyrant down to chains,"
"And Paradise for man regains."
""
"Maker of all, to thee we pray,"
"Fulfil in us thy joy to-day;"
"When death assails, grant, Lord, that we"
"May share thy Paschal victory."
""
"To thee who, dead, again dost live,"
"All glory, Lord, thy people give;"
"All glory, as is ever meet,"
"To Father and to Paraclete. Amen."
""

Notes by L3 KenJ 21:34, 20 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Just above the score: "To be sung in unison." is missing (and on the right side of the page, "French Church Melody." is level with this last line.
  • Lyrics: Blank lines between verses 2 and 3, 4/5, 5/6 are narrower than usual.

Notes Jkenny 22:38, 20 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Added the line "To be sung in unison." I think this line "belongs" to the music staff, just like "allegro" or "ff" so I stuck it close to the staff. Then I think that the line "French Church Melody" (source of the hymn) should go on the same line as "In moderate time ..." (tempo). In most cases, where the printer had enough vertical space, the source of the hymn always goes on the same line as the tempo. In this case, I think the printer was trying to squeeze everything in, and short of vertical space, and so forced the left side header info upwards, out of alignment with the right. What do you think?
  • Fixed blank line problem with a new coding method.
  • Also removed line above Latin lyric title "Ad cenam agni ..." Do you agree?
  • Version 2 up.

Notes KenJ 23:10, 20 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Excellent. Keep up the good work. Clear it.
