Lily3 Notes
Copy the Lilypond source to your computer and compile it to create MIDIs and a PDF to check. Leave notes here, or edit the code in Lily2 and leave notes describing the changes. The L3 who declares the hymn "cleared" should upload the correctly-named files to the file repository. This ensures that what is checked and cleared is exactly what is uploaded.
Notes by --Ebykm 22:33, 1 July 2007 (PDT)
- Is there any way to lower/raise the triplet slurs ?.
Notes by L2 Jkenny 21:01, 3 July 2007 (PDT)
- The slurs can be moved with extra-offset e.g. to move a slur 1 unit up in the y axis:
\once \override Slur #'extra-offset = #'( 0.0 . 1.0 )
- Similarly, the tuplet number can be moved using extra-offset:
\once \override TupletNumber #'extra-offset = #'( 0.0 . 1.0 )
- However I don't think any moves are necessary in the case of this hymn. The way you have done it already matches the image close enough.
- Next to the tempo line is the sentence: "This tune may also be sung throughout in unison." Although the image shows it as slightly raised above the tempo, I think this is done to avoid the tuplet bracket below. Since this collision problem doesn't happen in our version, I have placed the sentence on the same line as the tempo, otherwise it might look odd.
styg 12:46, 14 July 2007 (PDT)
- Triplets look good!
- 1st system, 3rd bar, alto, 2nd note, need explicit flat on ees.
- 2nd system, 2nd bar, alto, 1st note, need explicit flat on ees.
- Verse 4, line 5 should end with comma instead of period. (Added to Proofing Errors.)
- Also suitable section: Column 1 should read:
409 In the Cross of Christ I glory. 416 Jesu, meek and lowly. 418 Jesu, name all names above.
Column 2 should read:
471 Praise to the Holiest in the height. 649 Litany of the Passion. 656 The Story of the Cross.
Jkenny 20:54, 14 July 2007 (PDT)
- Fixed explicit flats.
- Fixed Verse 4 line 5
- Fixed Also suitable section. So sorry for the error! I guess I was so relieved to get the difficult bits over with
that when it came to this last bit I just read off the 1933 edition, wrongly assuming it was the same and didn't compare it properly with the scan.
Lily3 cleared, files uploaded styg 22:41, 14 July 2007 (PDT)
- I wondered if the 1933 was different. :-)
