Lyrics copied from P3 and perl-formatted --QMacrocarpa 13:57, 15 August 2007 (PDT):

"O GOD, thy soldiers' crown and guard,"
"And their exceeding great reward;"
"From all transgressions set us free,"
"Who sing thy Martyr's victory."
""
"The pleasures of the world he spurned,"
"From sin's pernicious lures he turned;"
"He knew their joys imbued with gall,"
"And thus he reached thy heavenly hall."
""
"For thee through many a woe he ran,"
"In many a fight he played the man;"
"For thee his blood he dared to pour,"
"And thence hath joy for evermore."
""
"We therefore pray thee, full of love,"
"Regard us from thy throne above;"
"On this thy Martyr's triumph day,"
"Wash every stain of sin away."
""
"O Christ, most loving King, to thee,"
"With God the Father, glory be;"
"Like glory, as is ever meet,"
"To God the holy Paraclete. Amen."

Notes by L2 Jkenny 03:34, 7 September 2007 (PDT)

  • Stray slur or tie in system 1 measure 4 (3rd full measure) tenor part. The tie looks wrong as it seems to tie a stem up note to a stem down bass note. Omitted it.

Notes by L3 KenJ 03:17, 28 October 2007 (PDT)

  • "To be sung in unison" missing from between tempo and score.
  • System 1, measure 4 (3rd full measure), note 3, tenor/bass note (tie): I suspect the tenor and bass notes share the same note head, and that there should be an up-stem on the note to validate the tenor tie. Reasons are that there are 3-note combinations in the bass staff around it, and the fact that many stems in this work are invisible(?) but usually "break" the staff lines. My current theory is that all invisible stems break staff lines, but not all broken staff lines indicate an invisible stem. This makes me wonder if we did the correct thing when omitting a tie in at least one previous hymn.
  • System 2, measure 7: Tie missing between alto notes 2 and 3.
  • I don't remember the amount of space we had been leaving between lyric title and verse one. This may be close, and perhaps you could use this hymn as an example for the two spacing items mentioned in note for p292.

Notes by L2 Jkenny 20:16, 10 March 2008 (PDT)

  • "To be sung in unison" added.
  • System 1, measure 4 (3rd full measure), note 3, tenor/bass note (tie): I agree. Fixed. Not only that I think since my music is only so-so, we should strive to match the image as far as possible and only depart from the image when we are very sure, and in all cases, leave a PP note either because there's something suspicious, or because we have consciously departed from the image.
  • System 2, measure 7: Tie missing between alto notes 2 and 3. Fixed.
  • On space between lyric title and verse one--thanks, I'll use this hymn as the template for the previous one.
  • Now let me see if I remember how to upload the v2 into the repository....
