  • Thanks for the L1 KenJ - perfect!
  • This hymn involves a change of tempo partway. So I used the \tempo code to generate it. It generates metronome marks in a different style, so I hid these by turning them transparent. The tempo markings are then inserted as text markups
  • Note sure if the faster 2 = 50 tempo applies to the rest of the hymn from bar 5 onwards, or only to bar 5 alone.
  • midi at 2=42 or 2=50 is really slow, but the hymn notes below the music acknowledge this. At the alternative tempo of 2=63 mentioned in the text, the midi sounds like the way we usually sing this.

  • System 1, measure 3, bass notes 3 and 4: g's should be one octave higher.
  • Staff lines above and below the normal 5 all seem thicker. Might this be a distortion of magnification on my computer? What do you see? Should I ignore this?

  • Fixed system 1 meas 3 bass notes.
  • Checked staff lines at various magnifications - they looked normal, so probably a distortion of your screen display. On my notebook, occasionally a bar line might be thicker than the rest because it is somehow in between 2 pixels. I think there is a setting called anti-aliasing which fixes this, but I don't know enough to explain what anti-aliasing means.
