Notes by L2 Jkenny 08:57, 11 August 2007 (PDT)

  • verse 4 line 2 should end with comma ( confirmed with 1933 ed.)
  • verse 4 line 3 "O" should end with exclamation mark.
  • verse 6 - comma after "dull"? (it is in 1933 ed, but not in scan - inserted anyway but not sure.)
  • Errata page updated with all the above.

Notes by L3 KenJ 19:13, 17 September 2007 (PDT)

  • Lyrics: please verify verse 4, line 1, colon after born; verse 5, line 2, comma after bless; and verse 6, line 4, comma after dull. (same goes for 161a, of course)

Notes by L2 Jkenny 22:46, 17 September 2007 (PDT)

  • From 1933 edition:
    • v4 line 1 after born should be a semi-colon. (errata now updated)
    • v5 line 2 comma after bless confirmed. (errata updated previously)
    • v6 line 4 comma after dull confirmed. (errata updated previously)

Note by L3 KenJ 17:17, 21 September 2007 (PDT)

  • Lyrics verse 6, line 4: comma after dull. Looking again at image p260, the comma is clearly NOT there. This probably means the comma was added in the 1933 edition. Would we not be violating copyright by adding it? If so, perhaps it should be omitted (although I agree with the correction). Whatever the decision, these (hymns 161 and 161a) can be cleared afterwards.

Note by L2 Jkenny 19:18, 21 September 2007 (PDT)

  • I think we should remove the comma - from the scan, the white space after "dull" is small, so probably there wasn't meant to be a comma there. Omitted from Lilypond but will leave note for PPer.
  • This becomes version 3
  • V3 uploaded to repository.

Project History

    • Lily1
    • Lily2 - done. Jkenny 08:58, 11 August 2007 (PDT)
    • Lily3 - notes by L3 KenJ 19:25, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
- fixed. Jkenny 22:52, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
- note by KenJ 17:20, 21 September 2007 (PDT)
- opted for no comma, left note for PPer. Jkenny 19:58, 21 September 2007 (PDT)
- uploaded to repository. Jkenny 19:58, 21 September 2007 (PDT)

Note for PPer

  • Verse 6 line 4. Please note discussion about the comma after "dull". It's quite definitely not in the 1906 edition, but definitely in the 1933 ed.
