"COME, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire,"
"And lighten with celestial fire;"
"Thou the anointing Spirit art,"
"Who dost thy sevenfold gifts impart:"
""
"Thy blessèd unction from above"
"Is comfort, life, and fire of love;"
"Enable with perpetual light"
"The dullness of our blinded sight:"
""
"Anoint and cheer our soilèd face"
"With the abundance of thy grace:"
"Keep far our foes, give peace at home;"
"Where thou art guide no ill can come."
""
"Teach us to know the Father, Son,"
"And thee, of Both, to be but One;"
"That through the ages all along"
"This may be our endless song,"

Notes by Jkenny 01:52, 24 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Not sure where to split the midi, so I generated one which comprised the first 4 lines (good for verses 1 to 3) and another one for the "last 2 lines in unison" - this is only present in verse 4 and includes the Amen

Notes by L3 KenJ 21:03, 18 September 2007 (PDT)

  • System 3, lyrics: insert missing hyphen in me-rit.
  • Add space between hymn note and author, if possible.
  • Lyrics, verse 4, line 5: There probably should be a comma at the end of the line(merit,).

Notes by L2 Jkenny 06:30, 20 September 2007 (PDT)

  • Actually hyphen was already there buy Lilypond omitted it because of the density of the notes. Anyway, managed to force it to reappear.
  • Space added between hymn note and author.
  • Yes indeed, it should be a comma, confirmed with 1933 ed. errata updated.
  • V2 up.
