Lyrics copied from P3 and perl-formatted--QMacrocarpa 17:12, 15 May 2007 (PDT):

"In the bleak mid-winter"
" Frosty wind made moan,"
"Earth stood hard as iron,"
" Water like a stone;"
"Snow had fallen, snow on snow,"
" Snow on snow,"
"In the bleak mid-winter,"
" Long ago."
""
"Our God, heaven cannot hold him"
" Nor earth sustain;"
"Heaven and earth shall flee away"
" When he comes to reign:"
"In the bleak mid-winter"
" A stable-place sufficed"
"The Lord God Almighty"
" Jesus Christ."
""
"Enough for him, whom Cherubim"
" Worship night and day,"
"A breastful of milk,"
" And a mangerful of hay;"
"Enough for him, whom Angels"
" Fall down before,"
"The ox and ass and camel"
" Which adore."
""
"Angels and Archangels"
" May have gathered there,"
"Cherubim and Seraphim"
" Thronged the air--"
"But only his mother"
" In her maiden bliss"
"Worshipped the Belovèd"
" With a kiss."
""
"What can I give him"
" Poor as I am?"
"If I were a shepherd"
" I would bring a lamb;"
"If I were a wise man"
" I would do my part;"
"Yet what I can I give him--"
" Give my heart."

Lily3

We are trying out a new workflow where L3 grabs the code, compiles and checks. After clearance, L3 will name the files and upload to repository. This ensures that what is checked and cleared is exactly what is uploaded.

Notes

Notes by Jkenny 07:47, 17 May 2007 (PDT)

  • I find the midi very abrupt whenever it encounters a rest. But that's the way Lilypond does it. May not be so obvious if we set the midi voices to piano.

Comments by stygiania 13:25, 17 May 2007 (PDT)

  • Cakewalk is the same with the rests. Piano is slightly better (since it has a much larger decay than organ) but still more abrupt than a human would be.
  • First note of bass line should be f instead of a.
  • In v2-3 score block, 2nd line: v3 lyrics (after breast) "-ful of" need to shift right one note.
  • End of v2-3 score block: Can the &c. be separated more from the lyrics. Also trying to decide if that is italicized--I think & was printed upright for the same reason numerals were but the c looks slanted.
  • Bar line in middle of Amen block.

Replies by Jkenny 08:23, 18 May 2007 (PDT)

  • First note in bass fixed.
  • v2-3 2nd line v3 lyrics shifted - basically "breast" takes up 2 notes.
  • "&c" italicized and spaced further. This word is now aligned to a fake transparent note in the alto part in order to space it away from "whom" and to allow it to be italicized.
  • Bar line fixed.

Lily3 cleared, files uploaded stygiania 10:11, 18 May 2007 (PDT)
