Shouldn't projects be a subcategory of uberprojects, not the other way around? --ReneeMattie 07:27, 15 November 2006 (PST)
- If you just looked at the semantic meaning of the words, you'd be right, of course. But the way the terms are used at DP, no. Uberprojects are projects that are made of up of lots of separate projects, like individual volumes of a particular periodical, but only some projects at DP are Uberprojects. The vast majority of projects at DP are not Uberprojects; thus, Uberprojects at DP are "special" projects, hence, the sub-category status under the larger category project.
- The UberProject, Überproject, or Uberproject name (which some people don't like, by the way, for reasons you may guess) was really just a way to designate a set of projects which will all need consistent/similar processing to each other. Once again, that would support the idea of having "projects" be a sub-set of "Uberproejct," but again, the overriding fact is that only some projects here at DP get Uberproject designation, and that the term PROJECT is the "core unit." I know I'm probably not explaining this very well, but I hope you get the gist of it. -- kraester 13:34, 15 November 2006 (PST)
