Exponentiation
With exponential statements that use expressions as the exponent, should braces be used? For example:
Would this be written as 2^(x+1) or 2^{x+1}?
- The idea is to depart as infrequently as possible from the "standard" proofing guidelines, so since the exponent resembles a superscript, proof it as such (with braces).

Factorial Symbol
Where does ! fall in the list of precedence? According to the example of summation, it binds more tightly than division. Thanks

Maths or Mathematics?
This page was hard to find because I was searching for Mathematics, and as soon as I typed the fifth letter (e), the search engine failed me.
I suggest this page be renamed with the British/Commonwealth abbreviation Math replaced by the unabbreviated Mathematics.
I've added redirecting pages using Math and Mathematics now. That should handle it. Lhamilton
