jnik is Jon Niehof (and he prefers to be addressed as Jon in person; jnik is a cluster of letters not a nickname), credited on PG as "Jonathan Niehof".
His soul is currently owned by Anime Boston 2007, so he'll be back here in earnest once that's been taken care of.
(Wow, that's out of date. Following this his soul was owned by his thesis, and now by his postdoc. He misses dp.)
