The unprocessed images are also a problem.  The print is too close to the gutter
and a letter or 2 are lost.

They are better than the processed images so I redid them in ST.  They are a
problem for about 80 pages.

034.png has some broken type at the bottom of the page. It can 
probably be intuited, but it's still not great.

065.png is overcropped, and the left side is cut off.

PM supplied replacement proofing images, not yet installed. 
In the replacement images 067.png is a totally different page 
from the original. He apparently missed making a new 067, 
and named all the subsequent pages in the replacement 
images -1 from their matching existing names. So the new 067 
matches 068. 

Since the proofing images are split pages, reference images 
of all the complete pages need to be included as extra images.

I found three google copies; 9ZQrAAAAMAAJ and cgmA7TYQaWMC
appear to point to the same copy and have the same flawed
scan of page 218. I have notified google, and they will
hopefully re-scan that and several of the illustrations
that were distorted in the scanning. sb8sAAAAMAAJ appears
to be volumes 1 and 2, and to have been bound together
by the holding library (judging by what appears to be
scans of the front covers of both volumes). Note that only
v.2 has been started at DP.

The Authors name is NONAME, "The stories were largely 
by "Noname", a pseudonym used by Luis Senarens" I have added the 
author's name to the Author's Field.

Odd there is no hole on the reverse side, but only 
the one word is damaged The P2 figured it out as
"Northward" which I was able to confirm in a non-matching
edition.  (Yes, I know you will probably want a matching
image but none can be found at this time.)

Currently trying to fix this issue. Close@Hand had provided some better
high res images, (long ago) including two color illos with no associated 
proofing images. While researching to find their location, I found images
from microfilm uploaded to TIA in 2021. It shows several additional full
page illos at the end, and two pages of music.

source is given as TIA. (Google's original scan date is 20070315,
but the dates in the TIA/Google copy under All Files: HTTP are in
2009). Both parts have the same clearance, and should be combined,
as the original source is one physical volume.

Illustration images for part 1 do not belong with this edition,
and appear to have been taken from the TIA U of Toronto copy
(http://archive.org/details/grandmothersstor00holmuoft), which
is only part 1 of the Google edition.

There are two illustrations that are in the Google and TIA-Google
copies that are not in the project. There are also missing ad pages,
front and back, and the verso of the TP is missing text. Once the
parts are combined, a full check should be made to make sure nothing
else is missing. Should also add high-res of title page for potential
use as epub cover.

Image source should be changed to Google.

is physical page 203 (unnumbered, but 013 is 204). 237 is
another title page for Vol. III., 238 is physical page 13.
Is this a very weird series of books or are we missing

The first map is indicated on 359.png and 360.png. There are no 
corresponding high-res illustration jpgs, only the reference images
i359.png and i360.png. Per the PPer, it looks like there could be
a page missing. Those two pngs only cover three-quarters of the
map - the bottom right quadrant isn't there.

Further review, and hi-res illustrations are needed.

Queried the PG clearance team re: the reprint and (at least) two pages of modern
material in our scans. Manny from
the clearance team responded: 

"Any material that was added to the reprint is covered by the 1994 copyright,
and must be removed before uploading 
to PG. The page between the half title and the title, and the verso are clearly
added material. My inclination would 
be to drop them, or replace them with blank pages if there are any issues with
page numbering.

Looking at the reprint it may be possible to salvage this project. However, I
queried the clearance line and the PG
clearance team about the 2 pages of "modern material" in the front matter. There
is no note in the clearance line as
usual stating to remove any modern material from the reprint.

I've checked the project against the listed source

and this UCL copy is a match for the library stamps, marks etc on the proofing
images. But our scan quality 
isn't great throughout, and it could be worth replacing the proofing images from
the University of Toronto copy

least one previous volume.

Issue #1: There isn't a proofing image for the map caption - missing page
project needed.

Issue #2: 216.png is a duplicate of 214.png (physical page 194) and 217.png is a
duplicate of 215.png (physical 
page 195). Pngs 216 and 217 look like they come from a different, third scanset
that I haven't been able to 
identify. Both can simply be deleted from the project.

Issue #3: This is more of a nit-pick really, but the naming of the illustration
files could disambiguate 
better between images on a particular page, and full-page images facing a page.
So I'd suggest these filename changes would tidy things up a bit:

The raw scans are pairs of pages, and sometimes the page numbers are 
cropped off. They go from cover to the 3/4 spread (were the missing 
001/002.png just blanks?). Then on through the 25/26 spread. We 
skip 27-29 and the even numbered page shifts to the left. 27.png is 
page 27, 29.png is page 30. Then 30/31, 32/33, followed by 37//38 
(even numbers now back on the right) through 45/46. Final spread 
missing (would be nice to have decorations in ad).

The proofing images need to be redone from the raw scans, but the 
raw scans are clearly incomplete (no raw scans for spreads having 
no illustrations).

The left and right columns on some pages are independent, and the 
continuations are on different pages. The right column of 026.png 
("HAS BEEN" ADDRESSES...) continues down the left columns of 027.png, 
and ends in the left column of 028.png. The right column of 025.png 
continues on the right column of 027.png, and then goes nowhere, 
suggesting page 29 is missing.

003.png has what appears to be a handwritten note saying the sidenotes
are by Mr C. Richards, but there is a catalogue entry at Texas State
that may match this and it says "Side notes by Cullen Richards". Does
that mean the handwriting was actually printed in the pamphlet?

It looks to me as if the zipfile (renamed as *jnik.zip, as he was the PPer)
should
be examined, and the raw images (if they are there) added to the project,
possibly replacing the current image files.

Both are google, but appear to be from different scan passes;
the direct google scanset has some images that are unreadable that

There is a discrepancy between the two scan sets on how many blank pages
are between the end of part 1 and the fold out map.

Need high res of the fold out map. Online images could be cobbled together for 
proofing images.

All the iterations of the google scan set (google, Hathi, and TIA) have
multiple
partial scans of the last page of the book. I believe that's an issue with the 
original, but a look at a hard copy would confirm.

The map is not a fold-out it is a two page spread, there should be two blanks 
between 109 and the LHS of the map.There is nothing but blank pages after 188, 
only one occurrence of 188.

No clue what's going on. Title page matches, but after that
nothing matches. This printing leaves out a book that is
in the paper copy of the book, book/chapter titles in the 
TOC don't match at all for any of the book.

I double checked the images from Vol. 1 in case they were
swapped, and not. The style of the TOC's don't match.

I am left clueless and must return this volume. It seems useless
anyway since nothing matches.

Processing the images through scantailor would help many of the 
proofing images. However, there are many of the original images 
which are folded, creased, uninked, and torn, leaving sections 
of text illegible in the originals.

Ad pages at the end were left out, acceptable practice, particularly 
since they suffer from the same poor printing as the main book.

The page numbering weirdness mentioned in the project thread does 
not seem to be an issue. The last line of the page does end a 
paragraph, but it is a bit lost in the poor printing.
