Script (Unicode)
A Script is a subset of Unicode characters that are used together for a specific writing system. Although Unicode defines a large number of scripts, here at DP we work with only the Latin script for the vast majority of our projects.
Occasionally, we want to work directly with another alphabetic script (such as Greek or Cyrillic) in the rounds, and Project Managers have the ability to add character suites to enable that, when needed.
Note that the assignment of which characters belong to which scripts is already defined as part of the Unicode standard.
Why does this matter?
When we do have more than one alphabetic script being used in a project, there is a possibility of confusion. Particularly where scripts are historically related, visual appearance can be very similar or even identical, between characters from different scripts.
