Outside sources of information

Where do people go to verify questionable scans, search for bits of elusive information, and so on? Here's a list of useful sites outside DP.
- Project Perseus - has numerous searchable ancient Greek and Roman texts, and a Greek dictionary that may be helpful in verifying Greek words. Tends to have technical problems which may take the site (or part of the site) down for several days at a time.
- Google Books - Content Providers frequently harvest public-domain books from Google. In cases where the CP's source was elsewhere, this may serve as a second source if there are unreadable pages. Books on Google are frequently not readable outside the US, due to Google's extremely conservative policy of complying with all countries' copyright laws.
- The Internet Archive - Similar to Google Books, but with a much more limited selection. TIA frequently has better quality images than Google, and it does not restrict access from outside the US.
- Onelook Dictionary - Searches several dictionaries at once, including the 1913 and 1828 editions of Webster's. Very helpful when trying to decide whether words should be hyphenated or not.
