Language Skills List
This language skills list tells you who you can ask for help with processing a language you don't know. Clicking on a name opens a "Send Private Message" window. Skill levels are as follows:
- Native: The language you use in everyday conversation.
- Fluent: Languages you are proficient in besides your native language.
- Intermediate: Languages (other than your native language) you can communicate well in, but not exactly fluent — nor do you need a dictionary :-)
- Basic: Languages you can process given time, effort and a good dictionary.
This page is not maintained on a regular basis by the admins. Before you contact someone on the list, please check how recently they've been on site using the member search available on this page. Those who've not logged into the site in the last six months may or may not be marked in italics. By all means try to contact them: they may still be able to help, even if they have less time for DP than they used to. However, be aware that replies may take some time, or may not happen at all. If you don't hear back, please contact someone else.

How do I add my languages?
- Click on the Edit link at the top of this page, or use an Edit link at the right of a particular section if you only want to edit that portion of the page.
- If your language isn't on the list, add it in alphabetical order.
- If your fluency level isn't on the list, add it according to the order: native, fluent, intermediate, basic.
- Add yourself under your native language, in your fluency level line, inserting the text [[pm:my_id_number|my_user_name]]
- Change the username to yours.
- Change the id number to yours so that the link will work; see the instructions here for how to look up that id number.
- Repeat the above for your other languages (optional).
- Before saving, you can use the "Show preview" button to check how it looks and to see if the PM link works. (Open the link in a new tab/window so you don't lose your edits!)
