Introduction

Joseph Holt Ingraham (26 January 26, 1809 - 18 December, 1860) was an American author who spent several years at sea before working as a teacher of languages in Mississippi. He became an Episcopal clergyman on March 7, 1852.

Ingraham wrote during the heyday of the dime novel, and many of his stories are wild sea adventures and/or religious romances. As of June 2022:
