WANTED: Hands-On PPer
Project Managers are seeking Post-processors who are willing to adopt a project before it is finished proofing (sometimes before it is even released).
There is also a list of all pre-PP projects (excluding those in an 'unavailable' state) that do not have a PPer explicitly assigned. Note that the appearance of a project on that list does not imply that the PM is actively seeking a PPer for it -- but they may (or may not) be willing to assign a PPer if asked. Also, check the notes from the PMs: some are giving blanket "any of my projects on the automatic list IS available for a PPer to reserve" notices.
If you are a new PPer looking for a project, try the Projects for new PP'ers thread.
If you're a PM who wants a project to skip a round, try WANTED: PPer for round skip.
Using WANTED: Hands-on PPer
Project Managers
- Add an entry to the list of projects - clone one of the existing entries.
- When a PPer volunteers, add the PPer's name to the PP field of the project's page.
- Remove the entry from the list.
(It is not necessary to update a changelog, as that is automatically done by the wiki software.)
Post-Processors
- Send a private message to the PM, requesting the project
- Help answer proofreading/formatting questions in the project thread.
- Post-process the project

All my projects that aren't already assigned to a PPer are available to be claimed. I don't PP, so all help would be appreciated.
I mostly do New Zealand-related parliamentary papers (of major historical significance) that have some quirks, so some small communication between you becoming PP and PPing commencing would be appreciated though not totally necessary -- I try to leave good notes in the project page.
Thanks! --ngeru 03:50, 4 September 2006 (PDT)

Everything of mine without a PPer is up for grabs.
Almost all my projects are destined for CCEL as well as PG, but I can convert your output to their format myself, so it will not put you to extra work.

Epitome of the Pharmacopeia of the US and National Formulary is going to be a real formatting and possible PP'ing challenge. It is currently in P3. It would quite possibly be easier to PP if the formatters were given special guidelines, so I'm looking for a PP'er who is willing to commit to the project and give me some feedback on what formatting guidelines they would like.

Note: ALL books listed on the list of all pre-PP projects (see below) with me as PM are available to any PPer. Also note that there is no need to take an active role on these projects. But you are certainly welcome to.

Note: I'll take a page from Dave's book. Any project that is listed in the automatically generated list with my name as the Project Manager are available for PPing. Also, if I have assigned the book to myself for PPing, and you want to PP the book, please PM me and I'll probably pass the project over to you. If there are books that need hands-on, "active while proofing", PPers, I will list them individually, as they come up.

Send a Private Message -- All projects not taken are available upon request. Everything I do will require a paginated HTML version and I would appreciate attempts at PDFs. But, I'd rather have a PPer and no PDF than neither.
- Tons of sidenotes, formatting, etc.
- Lots of formatting and accents. Should be fun?

All projects I PM without a PP entry are available. If you'd like one I assigned to myself you can still ask. There's a good chance I'll turn it over. Unless I list them here specifically, they don't need hands on PPers. My projects are often (but not always) german.

I've a number of complicated works (many tables, etc) that still need ASCII versions. I've completed TEI tagging and the (automatic) HTML, but lack tools (and inclination) to create nice looking tables in ASCII.
Works of this kind include:
- Philippine language grammar books
- The Tribes and Castes of India series
- Foreman's Philippine Islands.
If you are an ASCII hacker and like to tweak ASCII tables, please be in touch, and help me get these books posted on PG.

- This is Moses Cottsworth's summary of calendar evolution and simplification advocating the change to a 13 month year.
- I will not start this project with out a Hands-on PPer.
- It is a horrendous project. Some of the challenges:
- Multidirectional text on the same page.
- 1,2,3,4 column format, sometimes on the same page.
- sidebars along text.
- multiple fonts with underlining.
- odd quoting styles .
- odd decimal styles.
- Lots and lots of tables combining all of the above problems (and others).
- You've got to love your work.

I am looking for one or more PPers to take over a 10-volume set of books by Francis J. Child on "The English and Scottish popular ballads". Volume 1 Part 1. is now in PP stage, and I have practically completed the text version. This takes care of determining many of the style and layout decisions (although of course, you would have complete freedom to change any of that).
I will continue to PM all the projects (unless you absolutely want to take over), because I'm well-positioned to answer content questions.
My reason for seeking a new PPer(s) is that my responsibilities as Site Admin for DP Canada have simply eaten up all the time I have available. Just love it, but cannot handle the PPing as well.
Here are the projects:
- The English and Scottish popular ballads, volume 1 Part 1. {F2 skipped} {No P2} - 311 pages = Part 1
(discussion) currently in PP, text version almost completed.
- The English and Scottish popular ballads, volume 1 Part 2. {F2 skipped} - 258 pages = Part 2
(discussion) currently in PP
- English and Scottish Popular Ballads, vol 2 of 5 - 534 pages = Parts 3 and 4
(discussion) currently in F2
- English and Scottish Popular Ballads, vol 3 of 5 - 525 pages = Parts 5 and 6
(discussion) currently in F1
- English and Scottish Popular Ballads, Part 7 of 10 - 258 pages = Part 7
(discussion) currently in P3
- English and Scottish Popular Ballads, Part 8 of 10 - 275 pages = Part 8
(discussion) currently in P3 Waiting
- English and Scottish Popular Ballads, Part 9 of 10 - 213 pages = Part 9
(discussion) currently in P1 Unavailable
- English and Scottish Popular Ballads, Part 10 of 10 - 428 pages = Part 10
(discussion) currently in New Project
