Server history
From DPWiki
The main DP site has moved around a lot. Here's a history:
- 2000-10-01: DP goes public on server #1 at http://charlz.dynip.com/gutenberg
- 2001-11-27: DP moves to server #2 at http://charlz.dns2go.com/gutenberg
- 2002-10-26: DP moves to server #3 at http://texts01.archive.org/dp
- 2003-06-19: DP moves to server #4 at http://pgdp01.archive.org or http://www.pgdp.net. (texts01.archive.org becomes the test server)
- 2004-06-04: DP moves to server #5 (colo at The Planet, in the Dallas, TX area) at http://www.distributedproofreaders.net or http://www.pgdp.net
- 2004-06-27: (migrate the test site to pgdp01.archive.org, the former production server)
- 2006-08-xx: (migrate the test site to pgdp01.us.archive.org)
- 2006-10-08: DP moves to server #6 (colo at EasyCGI, in NYC/NJ area)
- 2007-10-26: EasyCGI relocates servers (including DP) to colo facility in The Meadowlands, NJ.
- 2008-05-05: EasyCGI rearranges servers again.
- 2008-10-01: EasyCGI becomes IronHost.
- 2014-03-07: DP moves to server #7 (and upgrades the OS).
- 2017-03-05: DP moves to server #8.
