Thank you for considering smooth reading "The Wishing-Stone Stories." This 335 page book, copyrighted in 1915 and 1921, has 16 illustrations, and if you want to see these you can download the web browser, ePub, or kindle version.

This is one of Thornton W. Burgess's animal books for young adults with illustrations by Harrison Cady. It has many of the same animal characters as his other books, with the usual humorous illustrations. In this book, Tommy, a young human boy, wishes he were a carefree animal who didn't have to do chores. His wish comes true in three interconnected stories where he becomes different animals. He discovers that it's not all fun and games for animals, and maybe he should stop hunting and trapping them.

If you fondly remember Chatterer the Red Squirrel, Reddy Fox, or other animal characters from Burgess's other books, you will enjoy this one. If you haven't met any of these animal characters before, now is your chance!

If you need more time to finish, just let me know, and I look forward to your comments.
