Instructions for Smooth Reading
180827: The project may make it into Smooth Reading in the next month or so. Preparing the individual illustrations takes quite a bit of work.

An unusual and (IMHO) interesting book. Unusual, because the book's text is mainly a list of captions for the more than 2600(!) illustrations, collected in 156 plates. Interesting, because a (surprisingly?) large number of the items presented are still in use today, or have clearly been the inspiration for what we use today.

Due to the character of the book, reading the illustrated versions (links to illustrated html and epub are provided in the text file) is recommended, but note that these are rather large files (37 MB) that may take long to download and open.

As always, more time for smooth reading can be arranged (just send me a PM), and partial smooth reads are welcome.

Enjoy, and thank you for your input.
