Please note that this book is pretty much overflowing with racist caricatures, even more so than comparable books of its time. Also note that the printed text (all editions) was apparently very hastily put together. The illustrations are mixed up in several places, and the ToC and LoI are incomplete. A substantial portion of almost identical text also appears in two separate chapters. Further notes on these issues in transcriber's notes in the text. | ||||
